bellydancing elementals
There seems to be a worldwide connection between faeries and bellydance. It is the freedom of expression and awareness of our physical selves that draws in the mystical to sway and shimmy as the music guides them. Bellydance styles differ in every culture and now, as bellydance has created its own subculture, it is sprouting seedlings of diversity all over the western world.
Women of all cultures are tuning into their bodies and allowing themselves to enjoy the alluring movements of bellydance to heal, laugh and bond within a tribe of women. There is no secret to bellydance, you are not born dancing. It is something that every woman can do regardless of her age, background, skin colour, or size. Women have reclaimed their right to dance, to free their movement and to express their playful nature.

Learnings
Faerie Cara is a bellydance teacher. Trained by Egptian entertainer Elias Nachef in Perth who taught her the rhythms of the tabla, the folklore behind every sound and the dance style that accompanies each traditional rhythm. Faerie Cara now teaches traditional bellydance to students in Perth with the intention for students to find their own freedom of expression through dance, not choreography. Elias incorporates the drum rhythms into each class, making sure that students learn to follow music and their bodies intuition to move. For more information on classes please contact Faerie Cara
