looking closer at environmental awareness
Save the Faeries is a new motivation to attract awareness towards environmental conservation and regeneration. The focus on faeries is to lighten the mood for environmental issues. The message behind the statement is that if we keep destroying the environment, faeries will have no where to live. Through saving the environment, we can save the faeries.
Faeries are loved by everyone, especially children. To bring children's awareness to the voices within the environment we can raise a new generation of eco-conscious kids.
Environmentalism has fast become a popular subject. It has also become a popular selling point for many products, services, and politicians. When it comes to the general public, we want change for a brighter future, and we want to make a difference now. What is really missing among the flashing sale signs, are straight forward points on what we can do to make a difference. Everyday we are faced with choices that can create change. Through ongoing awareness, conscious choices and empowered lifestyles, there really is hope for a brighter future.

Save the Faeries Festival.jpg)
Faerie Cara launched Save the Faeries with an environmental festival in Perth on the 18th May. The community stood up and embraced a new event with open hearts and minds. With over 800 people through the gate, the faeries raised $2500 for City Farm Project.
All the faerie volunteers looked amazing in their faerie best. They brought so much enthusiasm and charisma to the day and managed to keep up the energy until we all packed up and dragged our glitter bombed selves away. The crowd were taken on a musical journey by colourful Perth musician The Funky Junktion, Dekka, Bellydancers, Exodus Musica and Funkalleros. From the stalls, Greenpeace, the Wilderness Society, Anti-Nuclear Alliance and Friends of Australian Rock Art were filling petitions and spreading their word to a new crowd of eager listeners. The Earth shine Chai store sold out of cup cake treats and the organic vegie burgers filled stomachs with their tantalizing tastes until they sold out too. The faeries led children down the stepping stones to blow their wishes into the well of wishes, as Faerie Chaley and Clover told stories about the importance of looking after the environment. Throughout the event faeries helped festival goers to make wands, create creatures from Australian honkey nuts, face painting, hula hooping, making instruments from recycled waste and of course plenty of bubbles and magic wishing dust fillin
g the air.
The festival was a community celebration to spread environmental awareness, build bridges within the community and open hearts to a new way of living. With such a success we will be back next year, so fold up your wings and be ready Perth for another faerie fest coming soon.
