For kindred sisters

The Keeper

'The Keeper™' menstrual cup is a natural alternative to tampons - one woman throws away about 10,000 pads or tampons in her life. You will not need to buy other sanitary products saving you hundreds of dollars! Besides reducing waste, it is a economical and carefree method of menstrual hygiene. Think of the number of tampons that you will NOT have to throw away that ends up in landfill.

'The Keeper™' is a small, soft rubber cup, worn internally like a tampon, to collect the monthly flow. As it holds up to 30mls, emptying the cup a few times a day is usually adequate. It has a life expectancy of up to 10 years.

Easy to use, much like wearing a tampon - it is easily inserted by folding the cup vertically. First time users may be slightly aware of its presence, but once accustomed to using 'The Keeper™' you wouldn't live without it. 'The Keeper™' menstrual cup is made from natural gum rubber, as opposed to silicone - a synthetic man-made material. You don't have to worry about rushing down to the shop to get more tampons or sanitary pads

Women's Circle

As women bonded in a sacred circle of love and trust we can share our experiences and learn from one another. We can understand that we are not alone on our journey, and through opening our hearts to other women in the community we can understand ourselves through reflection. We can celebrate the joy of being a woman, the honour it is to hold the candle of the feminine and to transcend through our times of hardship with the strength of our sisters around us.

The Perth women's gathering is on Monday evening at the Mount Claremont Community Centre, located at 107 Montgomery Avenue Mount Claremont Perth. Meeting from 7-9pm. Participation is by donation, recommended donation of $5.

What to expect

Each week we will hold space for sisters to reflect with one another. We will work as a group to extend our psychic and creative senses and to then share our experiences so we can learn from one another. Guests speakers will be invited into the group to share their experiences and to guide the group through different spiritual and creative modalities.

Moon Lodge

When women are closely bonded they would bleed at the same time. In some Native American traditions  they would be relieved of their work duties so they could share time in a sacred space and honour their cleansing process. During this time they would celebrate their cleanse, talk about their blood and open themselves to Great Spirit through ritual and cultural practises. The visions they received during this time of 'secret women's business,' were a valuable aspect of the tribes survival.

At a Moon Lodge the circle is strong and holds the space for women to open their hearts, to release the old and to find strength for another cycle. There is no leader here, each woman brings to the circle her own energy and shares. As the talking stick is passed, each woman will share a story from her current life, a story of her family, homeland, she may sing or teach a song, a woman may wish to present her art and talk about it. Perhaps she will want to share a recipe or teach the group a dance. The circle is open to everyones offerings. Sometimes a silent sister will feel the need to simply sit and recieve from the circle, she is most welcome to do so.

Our community is now divided and women no longer bleed together. However we can still share our space regardless of which part of the moon cycle we are in. The circle is also open to our sisters who no longer bleed, have yet to bleed or are currently carrying child. This circle is for all women of the community.
